Research is nothing but Re-Search of previous results as well to find out the problems to innovate the new things with the help of creative ideas. Research helps the faculties and students to do the research in the target areas or upcoming areas of particular department which plays vital role for the intellectual progress of the individual. MIT highly focused on the continual improvement of the R&D activities by each department; to publish paper in the SCI journals or other high impact factor Journals (Scopus/WoS), to organize or participate in international or national conference/symposium/workshop/FDP/STC towards to gain the knowledge by interacting with the pioneers of the fields.
Research is the back bone of academics. For the promotion of research, institute has dedicated Research and Development Cell (R&D Cell) which aims at nurturing research culture in the institute by promoting research activities.

Management of MIT have virtuous mind and expressive the importance of R&D, MIT have sanctioned essential funds towards R&D activities for faculties and students. The R&D cell of MIT would be active in organizing conferences, seminars and workshops, FDP/STC etc.
Objectives of R&D Cell
- To acquire new Scientific and Engineering knowledge.
- Identification of thrust areas of research in each department
- To design novel techniques in all the streams of Engineering and Technology.
- To develop modern tools and methods to accelerate problem solving with unique importance on rural and socially significant issues.
- To build functional and professional linkages with Industry, professionals, government agencies and other organizations within and outside India.
- Advise and encourage the faculty members to carry out research in-house and in collaboration with other organizations and approach to Young Scientist awards by their unique research contribution
- To motivate the faculty members to apply for research grants from national or international funding agencies/universities/institutions of scientific research and to scrutinize the proposals before submitting to funding agencies such as; UGC, AICTE, DST, DRDO etc.
- To motivate the faculty members for organizing conferences, workshops, seminars, Symposiums and other research oriented events at national and International level.
- To encourage faculty members and students to publish technical papers for publishing in National and reputed International Conferences/ Journals
- Review the progress of research and offer necessary guidance whenever required
- Monitor and assess the progress of sponsored research projects.
- Review and monitor academic progress of candidates registered for Post Doc./Ph.D./M. Tech.
- Encourage young faculty members to register for Ph.D. at various reputed academic universities/institutes
